For the last week or so ago I cannot hear the sound on videos which is a pity. Not with speakers, not with earphones. It happened once before and then came back without me ever knowing why. :bear_angry:

So, from silent S E Essex, here's a pic of a Flying Duck Orchid, that would look good planted near the dog kennel. :shine:

Anyone who does that to a dog deserves a good horsewhipping!

Somehow makes me think of poor JonBent Ramsey. :shine:

did you check your speaker cable that plugs into the back of the computer?

Also your sound may have gotten accidentally put on mute. There is a setting for the speakers in the entertainment section of the computer programs. You can pull your speakers up and adjust them. Its easy for them to be put on mute by accident.

Hi Avalon

No it's software and it's only on stuff that's web-based; local files on my pc have OK sound and vision.

Happens when Windows or FF or RealPlayer or summat does a big update and then there's a small update a bit later to rectify it, I think. Can't be ar*ed to dig into it.....

..... unless it carries on for a few weeks more. :bear_angry:

Is that for real? (Edit - genuine gardening question?)

I once bought a Pineapple Lilly, as a bulb and planted, in the UK.

Oh Princess Paula did not suffer it gladly! When it came up! Off with it's head!

SMACK! She ruined it, it did not bloom again.

Yes Caleana major (Flying Duck Orchid) is real. Australian.

I know little about orchids, pineapple lilies, body bags or pets that savage the sexual organs of our vegetable cousins! :shine:

WOW! A Daffy Duck Orchid.

No, Paula, is not kind to our vegetable cousins. She is not at all 'green'. Well in any event she has it in for lillies.

Though I understand many forms of lilly are actually poisonous to cats, true  - so perhaps it was a pre-emptive strike?

She got the lilly before there was any call for body bags?:bear_tongue:

She is, she is, where lillies are concerned! She murdered that poor Pineapple Lilly, without a whiff of conscience. She likes a daisy though, I can't post my own pics of my cats on here without help. Dial up times out on me. But she is the plump daisy girl on the 'Cool Cats thread.'

Noticed a mama Duck under my garden shed today. She is making a nest. We are gonna have Duck Eggs soon. Now we will have to do something about the dog getting to them.

Using "quick reply" because I don't want to start the script to use smileys.

Pets just hate fancy dress. I dressed my horse up as a camel once, put two buckets on her back and covered them with a cloth, she was massively humiliated. You could feel it, her shame, I have never done such a thing again to a critter.

They are what they are, and are proud of being themselves.

Of course, you're right, must be a cardinal.

This B and B is not so far from you, Argentos. Might be a nice place for a weekend break one of these days.

http://www.duckhousedorchester.co.uk/

Here is a page of just amazing Australian orchids. It is endless. I did not know there were so many different types. Including a type that looks just like this :shine:

That B & B is 176 miles away. Nothing to those who live in the Americas, but the other side of the country to someone who lives in a place as small as England! :bear_rolleyes::shine::bear_rolleyes:

Lyperanthus serratus (Rattle Beak orchid) looks like a dangerous insect!

Yeah, I know about distance in the UK. It is not AT ALL the same thing as 176 miles in North America, which is NOTHING. The Motorways!

I also noticed the rattle beak Orchid. Looks a bit too loud.:censored: Like the Donkey Orchids too.

I was actually trying to find you pics of the Pineapple Lillys. That really was a nice lilly, very exotic, and I was not pleased with Paula for murdering it. Read quite a lot on that sort of lilly since. I guess they are poisonous.

People, genuinely, do need to know this, some of those lilies are deadly poisonous, if eaten. To pets/small kids. I did not know this until fairly recently, when I heard of someone's Siamese cat dying within hours of chewing on a potted one. A Stargazer, I think, which are lovely. I was appalled. I like lilies, and it was definitely a species I grew that killed the Siamese I heard about.:36_1_25:

My late Mum lost a dog that used to like to eat plants from poisoning. Don't know whether it was a lily or not, though it wouldn't be surprising as she had lots of them in her garden.

My bad! Dyslexia by association, I guess. But you can blame that TA person too. :36_3_12:I did find some Pineapple Lilies on the net, but they had huge long links.

They really DO look like pineapples before they bloom.

I never knew about this either. I had tons of them. Lots of other things too, but I did like lilies a lot.

In my case the cats got the lilies FIRST. One was most persistently p*ssed on.

I used to be really cross with them over their lily wrecking. But maybe they knew something I did not?

I miss lilies, but will not have one now. Not worth risking a pet.:452: Worse if someone's kid eats one.
